Trump Says ‘Board of Peace’ Formed to Oversee Gaza Transition

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the formation of an international oversight board to monitor the work of Gaza’s new transitional administration.

Trump, who will chair the so-called “Board of Peace,” wrote on Truth Social that the members’ names would be released soon.

The board would oversee the work of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, a group of 14 Palestinians which met for the first time in Cairo on Thursday.

According to Israeli reports, the “Board of Peace” would include Bulgarian and former UN Middle East envoy Nikolay Mladenov. Trump described it as the “Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled.”

Members of the Gaza administration committee that met in Cairo are tasked with overseeing daily life and basic services in the Palestinian territory, much of which has been destroyed by two years of conflict.

The panel of technocrats met under U.S. and Egyptian supervision, Egyptian state-affiliated media reported.

They are said to have no ties to the Islamist group Hamas, under the terms of the U.S.-brokered peace plan.

Technocrats are appointed for their professional expertise rather than political affiliation and are often deployed in transitional or crisis periods to restore governance and public services.

The second phase of the U.S. peace plan involves disarming Hamas in Gaza. Meanwhile, the group has accepted a non-political administration without Hamas ties, but continues to reject disarmament.

The first phase of the plan involved the handover of all living and dead hostages still held in Gaza, and the release of many Palestinian prisoners. Hamas is yet to hand over the remains of one dead Israeli hostage still in Gaza. #Trump Says ‘Board of Peace’ Formed to Oversee Gaza Transition#
