XRP Faces Price Risk, Token Trades Against Catalysts

Reflecting its negative volatility, Ripple (XRP) price is down to $1.03, having capped below $1.10 in recent weeks due to sustained retail and institutional investor selloffs.

XRP could fall below $1 if the support breaks amidst negative crypto market performance, having stayed above the breaking point without significant or meaningful movement in weeks.

The token has remained depressed, having lost about 70% from the beginning of the year to date due to downbeat investor sentiment and general crypto market weakness.

The latest update from the exchange showed that the total cryptocurrency market capitalisation remained flat at $2.31 trillion. Bitcoin (BTC) traded sideways at $65,200, while Ethereum (ETH) held steady at $1,930.

XRP price has been relatively stable in 24 hours, with crypto analysts maintaining a bearish outlook as the token has successively traded in the opposite direction to its own catalysts.

The token price movement has consistently ignored Ripple’s sustained drive to enhance its footprint in cross-border payments and tokenisation.

A series of partnership deals that would have influenced a positive re-rating were treated as sell-the-news in the absence of strong investor and market conviction.

Ripple took a proactive stance in the evolving landscape of U.S. financial regulations, amassing over 50 money transmitter licenses—well beyond the requirements proposed by the Payment Access to Cryptocurrency Entities (PACE) Act.

This strategic preparation positions Ripple favourably as new regulatory standards are debated and developed. A growing number of crypto analysts said only Bitcoin re-rating could drive XRP price higher.

XRP has entered a battleground where the token price risks falling below $1 if the support level breaks for any reason ahead of Clarity, a strongly identified catalyst for the token.

Investor sentiment turned off, dragging the token price lower to $1.01 last week following the postponement of the US Clarity Act, which is expected to classify XRP as a digital commodity under Federal law.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune has filed a cloture motion to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, scheduling a critical procedural vote for September 15.

This move establishes a formal timeline for legislative debate once lawmakers return from recess, though it does not guarantee the bill’s passage.

Crypto analysts noted that significant hurdles remain, including unresolved disputes over ethics provisions and potential opposition from both Democrats and dissenting Republicans like Senator Josh Hawley. TAO Surges on Mentat Lend Money Market for Subnet Tokens Launch
