Ripple XRP Plunges Below $1, Token Target Price Nosedives

Ripple (XRP) plunged to $0.998 on weak buyer conviction, after outperforming a flat broader market, primarily due to regulatory uncertainty and a negative ecosystem event.

The U.S. regulatory landscape soured, with the Clarity Act stalling in the Senate and the SEC targeting further delays to its “innovation exemption” rule. Target price outlook for XRP has crashed, though Standard Chartered maintained a $2.80 estimate for 2026.

Concurrently, 200,000 XRP were drained from the Coreum cross-chain bridge, a direct negative catalyst for the asset. These events combined to trigger selling pressure, pushing the price toward critical support.

The market now anticipates the downtrend to extend as XRP breaks a major support level that had held for nearly two years, potentially opening the door to further declines toward the $0.70–$0.90 range.

The entire crypto market faced pressure, with Bitcoin down 0.89% and total market cap falling 0.64%. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $131.1 million in net outflows on August 13, signalling weak institutional demand.

On August 11, XRP’s price fell to $0.9915, ending a 635-day streak above the psychologically important $1 support. This breach occurred even as the XRP Ledger set a new record with $4.06 billion in tokenised real-world assets, highlighting a disconnect between network growth and token price.

Technicals indicate XRP is oversold and battling the psychological $1.00 support level. The immediate key level is the recent swing low at $0.99371.

The trend is bearish below $1.06. A sustained break below $0.99 could accelerate selling toward the next Fibonacci support near $0.87. Price action around $0.99 and whale accumulation data, as large holders bought over 72 million XRP recently

Regulatory delays and a security breach have overshadowed positive on-chain whale activity, keeping XRP pinned near multi-month lows. The market is now predicting a lower target price of $1.10 for August, 2026. XRP at Tired Trend, Buyers and Sellers Out of Actions
