NASD Securities Exchange Gains, Market Cap Rises to N1trn
NASD Securities Exchange recorded gains as interest in shares of some unlisted companies rise. Consequently, the over-the-counter exchange market capitalisation reclaimed the N1 trillion mark.
The week’s capital appreciation was propelled by positive movements seen as market return increased by 0.91% to close at 760.92 points against 754.04 in the previous trading sessions.
Specifically, trading results show that NASD investors gain ₦10 billion over the five trading sessions. There were a 94.35% decrease in the total value traded during the week, trading data shows.
Investors traded a total of ₦178,564,318.40 in value compared to ₦ 3,157,715,507.10 in the previous week while total trade activity for the year printed at ₦ 25,856,927,119.12.
The total volume traded during the week was 1,436,385 units compared to 13,565,640 units in the previous week leading to a 89.41% decrease in trade volume compared to the previous outing.
Meanwhile, the total volume traded for the year has inched up to 3,255,875,817 units as of Friday’s close. VFD Group PLC ranking top among the five most traded securities by volume and Central Securities Clearing System PLC was the fifth most traded stock by volume traded in the week.

CitiTrust Holdings PLC, which currently holds a market capitalization of ₦12.84 billion closed the week at ₦12.84 representing a 7.90 per cent increase from the previous close of ₦11.90.
At a market capitalisation of N70 billion, Central Securities Clearing System PLC closed the week at ₦14.00 representing a 4.24 per cent increase from the previous close of ₦13.43.
Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria PLC, which currently holds a market capitalization of ₦181.59 billion closed the week at ₦93.00 representing a 2.99 per cent increase from the previous close of ₦90.30.
Year-to-date data shows that the NASD OTC Securities Exchange market closed on a positive note over positive sentiment that has been driving upward price movements.
The over-the-counter market returns increased by 2.43% from the beginning of the year to date while the total volume traded stands settled at 3,255,875,817 units in 1,938 deals. As of Friday, the total value traded has expanded to ₦ 25,856,927,119.12.
