UBA Shares Attract N2.045bn in Transaction Value

UBA Group Plc.’s shares attracted N2.045 billion in transaction value on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on Monday, ahead of the anticipated third quarter 2026 earnings release.

The Pan-African lender’s share price dipped by 66 basis points to N45 on Monday, which is about 18.5% below its 52-week high on the Exchange.

The banking group’s share price fell as more than 45.440 million of its outstanding shares, valued at N2.045 billion, traded on the local bourse.

Some shareholders are exiting positions, while others are building portfolios — the dipper buyers. UBA had peaked at N55.2 per share, its 52-week high.

Stock analysts said UBA’s share price has been capped below N50 on the Exchange, its resistance zone, and that solid Q3 earnings growth would be a catalyst for a fresh re-rating.

The market anticipates UBA Group to release its third quarter earnings scorecard in the coming days or week. At the close of the trading session, the market value of UBA’s 44.196 billion outstanding shares fell to N1.988 trillion.

Most of the equities analysts’ reports reviewed at MarketForces Africa rate the banking stock a buy, citing potential upside at separate target prices.

Investors and equities analysts across Broadstreet are waiting for UBA’s next growth story to emerge as the earnings scorecard for the second half of financial year 2026 looms.
