Cardano Gains 9% on Van Rossem Completion, Dijkstra Era Launch

Cardano (ADA) price rose 9.25% in 24 hours to $0.1879, significantly outperforming a flat Bitcoin, primarily driven by bullish ecosystem developments and on-chain accumulation.

The uptick reflects a positive reaction to the detailed Dijkstra era roadmap and active on-chain governance voting, signalling strong fundamental progress.

Cardano has formally transitioned into the Dijkstra development era following the successful activation of the Van Rossem hard fork on 18 July.

This upgrade to Protocol Version 11 enhanced Plutus smart contract performance, ledger consistency, and node security. The Dijkstra era will introduce Ouroboros Leios for greater scalability, with features like Nested Transactions targeted for mainnet by late 2026.

This is structurally bullish for ADA as it validates Cardano’s on-chain governance and delivers tangible technical improvements that could attract more developers and complex dApps, boosting long-term network utility.

Concurrently, an active governance vote proposes increasing the treasury spending limit, demonstrating live, decentralised decision-making.

These developments are being interpreted as signs of a maturing, utility-driven network, attracting capital. The outcome of the treasury vote and further technical milestones for the Dijkstra rollout.

ADA’s 9% gain starkly contrasts with Bitcoin’s +0.32% move, indicating coin-specific buying pressure. Social media highlights ADA as a top 24-hour gainer, alongside other alts like Ethena (ENA) and Pepe (PEPE), suggesting a risk-on tilt within the altcoin segment.

The move is not a simple beta follow; it reflects targeted accumulation and a favourable altcoin environment. Technically, ADA faces immediate resistance at the Fibonacci 23.6% level ($0.18864) and the recent swing high of $0.19932.

The 83.58% volume spike confirms buyer interest. The base case is a consolidation above the $0.176 support, according to the trading signal, before another attempt higher.

Technical traders said the risk case is a failure to hold $0.176, which could see a retreat to the 7-day Simple Moving Average near $0.165.

The short-term bias is bullish but entering a potential resistance zone.  The combination of concrete development progress, active governance, and high-volume price appreciation paints a constructive picture for ADA in the near term.
