2027: APC Forum Endorses Tinubu, Mutfwang for Second Term

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Plateau State Forum has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Caleb Mutfwang for second term in office, saying they deserve to be re-elected.

Chairman of the forum, Hon. Yakubu Sakondong, said this at a news conference conveyed on Tuesday in Abuja to address developments within APC.

He expressed the forum’s confidence in the duo’s ability and commitment to continuing doing things right in the party and in Nigeria generally.

Sakondong appreciated Tinubu for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to strengthening APC and improving the lots of Nigerians.

He noted that the party had continued to grow in structure, inclusiveness and national appeal under Tinubu’s leadership.

He said that a clear example of the renewed strength was the election of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as APC’s National Chairman in July 2025.

Sakondong noted that since assuming office, Yilwatda had introduced several innovative reforms aimed at modernising and consolidating the party.

The forum’s chairman listed the introduction of electronic registration of party members and promotion of youth-friendly policies as pointers to the assertion.

He also mentioned the implementation of stronger women and people with disabilities (PWDs) inclusion initiatives within the party’s structure.

Sakondong commended Yilwatda’s commitment to party reconciliation and unity, demonstrated by his personal and proactive championing of internal reconciliation of aggrieved members.

He also commended Yilwatda for his open-door approach in welcoming defectors from other political parties into the APC family, especially Mutfwang.

“This movement represents a new chapter of political collaboration and unity, not only in Plateau but across Nigeria,” the chairman said.

He appreciated the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) for zoning the party’s national chairmanship position to the North-Central and specifically micro-zoning it to Plateau, ahead of the national convention scheduled for March 27.

Sakondong said that the decision reflected fairness, recognition of the zone and the state’s contribution to the party.

He used the opportunity to congratulate the newly-elected chairmen and councillors across the FCT Area Councils and wished them a productive and successful tenure.

Sakondong called on people of Plateau and Nigerians in general to join the growing development of a ‘united and progressive APC’.

He added that under Yilwatda, the party was building a structure where every member is recognised, valued and treated equally.

“Together, we must continue to support the reforms and leadership direction that are strengthening our party and positioning it for continued national development,” he said. #2027: APC Forum Endorses Tinubu, Mutfwang for Second Term#
