XRP Rises 4% as Ripple, Stripe Enable Automated AI Transactions

XRP price inched up 4% to $1.44, significantly outperforming a broader market that rose 1.93% as investors increased bets on Ripple’s integration of Stripe into its payment system.

The positive price movement was primarily driven by renewed optimism around new payment utility, specifically Ripple’s integration with Stripe’s tools for AI-driven transactions.

Traders said price inched higher in positive reaction to new payment utility, as Ripple integrated XRP with Stripe’s payment system and the Machine Payments Protocol, enabling automated AI transactions.

The key catalyst is Ripple’s integration of XRP with Stripe’s payment tools and the Machine Payments Protocol. Announced on September 17, this enables AI agents to pay for data and services using XRP automatically, creating a novel demand source.

The news has fuelled optimism about increased transaction volume and broader adoption. This represents tangible utility expansion beyond speculative trading, which can attract longer-term investor interest.

Actual on-chain transaction volume growth stemming from these new payment flows. XRP’s rise occurred alongside a broader market rally, with Bitcoin up 1.52% and the total crypto market cap increasing 1.93% in 24h.

This general risk-on sentiment, potentially fuelled by stabilising ETF flows after a volatile week, provided a tailwind for altcoins like XRP. Technically, XRP is testing a key resistance level at the 50-day simple moving average near $1.45.

A successful daily close above this level could open a path toward the next major resistance at the August high of $1.55.

The upcoming activation of the Batch V1.1 amendment on the XRP Ledger, projected for shortly after September 29, is a concrete bullish event to watch.

The short-term bias is cautiously bullish, contingent on holding above the $1.45 pivot. A break and hold above $1.45, supported by volume, would confirm bullish momentum.

A concrete utility catalyst and a supportive macro backdrop drove XRP’s outperformance. The focus now shifts to whether it can convert technical resistance into a new support level.

A security incident at DCENT’s XRP-compatible wallet has led to millions of XRP being stolen and renewed debate over when token issuers should freeze compromised funds.

Korean wallet provider DCENT issued an urgent alert after detecting abnormal transfers from its DCENT App Wallet, a software wallet that supports XRP Ledger and several other networks.

According to a detailed XRP security alert for DCENT wallet users, on-chain analysts identified about 6,160 potentially affected addresses and roughly 9.3 million XRP stolen, with around 2 million XRP still sitting in tracked wallets and the rest routed through unidentified services.

DCENT urges anyone who used the App Wallet, or entered a hardware wallet recovery phrase into it, to update to version 10.0.0, check if action is needed, and move assets to a new wallet created with a fresh recovery phrase, never reusing the old one.

The calls for “issuer freezes” target XRPL-issued tokens, not XRP itself. On XRP Ledger, assets like Ripple USD (RLUSD) are issued via trust lines, where the issuer can flag specific trust lines as frozen to block further transfers from compromised addresses.
