Strong Fundamentals – Okomu Oil Palm Posts Explosive Q3 Earnings

Okomu Oil Palm Plc, one of Nigeria’s leading agribusiness companies, delivered a stellar unaudited Q3 2025 financial performance, firmly solidifying its position as a top-tier player in the palm oil sector.

In a season marked by macroeconomic uncertainty and global commodity price volatility, the company posted a profit after tax (PAT) of N60.33 billion, a dramatic leap from N12.70 billion in Q3 2024 a 57% year-on-year increase.

This financial resurgence, which extends the momentum seen in its H1 2025 results, not only reaffirms the company’s resilience but also sets the stage for continued outperformance. The Board’s Declaration of an interim dividend of N10.00 per share, payable to shareholders on record as of October 31, 2025, underscores the company’s robust cash flows and management’s commitment to shareholder value.

Okomu Oil’s revenue was significantly buoyed by a sustained rally in global and domestic palm oil prices coupled with commodity’s strong pricing environment throughout Q3 2025, benefiting Okomu. This market dynamic provided a fertile ground for Okomu to scale revenue, aided by its improved production capacity and favourable agro-climatic conditions.

The company’s impressive net margin expansion speaks to strong internal efficiencies. A combination of cost controls, scale-driven economies, and higher average selling prices led to greater operational leverage. The rainfall pattern during the planting season significantly boosted yields, while careful capex execution kept production assets optimally functional without compromising liquidity.

Okomu’s total assets grew to N78.2 billion by mid-2025, up from N55.5 billion at year-end 2024. The increase reflects reinvestment of earnings and capacity upgrades. Equity also expanded, improving financial resilience.

In H1 2025, N57.7 billion in operating cash flow was generated, adequately covering both N7.9 billion in capex and N26.1 billion in dividend payments. This reinforces the sustainability of Okomu’s high payout ratio.

As of Q3 2025, Okomu Oil trades at N1,020 per share. The declared interim dividend of N10 implies a 1.0% interim yield, not accounting for a potential final dividend, a likely scenario given the strong full-year earnings trajectory.

Moreover, the company’s Return on Equity (ROE), historically hovering above 80%, remains one of the highest in Nigeria’s listed company, making it an efficient value-creator.

Okomu Oil stands out in terms of:

    Profitability metrics (PAT, margins, ROE)

    Operational leverage

    Dividend consistency and liquidity management

While strong, trail Okomu in bottom-line growth and balance sheet strength, giving Okomu the edge as a superior long-term agribusiness investment.

    Investor’s Recommendation: BUY/ACCUMULATE

We issue a “BUY” recommendation for investors with medium to long-term horizons and an “ACCUMULATE” call for those already holding the stock.

However, the N1,020 market price reflects a premium over historical trading ranges. It is underpinned by strong fundamentals. The upside potential remains significant, particularly if palm oil prices remain elevated and export channels remain robust amid currency depreciation and global supply chain shifts.

Okomu Oil Palm Plc’s Q3 2025 results mark a watershed moment in its growth trajectory. With net earnings exploding more than sixfold, efficient capital deployment, and a sizable interim dividend, the company offers both value and growth to investors.

The current financial and macroeconomic environment characterised by a weak naira and high commodity prices further enhances its competitive positioning.

Investors seeking a well-managed, high-margin, dividend-paying stock in the agro-industrial space will find Okomu Oil a compelling portfolio addition. # Strong Fundamentals – Okomu Oil Palm Posts Explosive Q3 Earnings
