Polkadot Price Rises 5.2% to $0.8648 on Bullish Shift

Polkadot (DOT) price rose 5.2% to $0.863, significantly outperforming a broadly flat market, primarily driven by bullish social sentiment highlighting record capital inflows and Agile Coretime adoption.

On August 4, DOT broke above a descending trendline on its fifth attempt, trading at $0.86. Liquidation data shows shorts dominated, with $190K in short positions liquidated in 24 hours versus just $9K in longs.

This is bullish for short-term price action, indicating a shift in market structure and a squeeze on bearish bets. Traders said key levels to watch are support at $0.7950 and resistance targets at $0.9090 and $1.0450.

According to crypto market analysts, the move needs to hold above $0.7950 to maintain validity. DOT’s 12.76% gain over the past week provided underlying momentum.

Technically, the price is testing the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level at $0.864. While the Relative Strength Index at 50.9 shows room for movement, the key development is the network’s shift to a deflationary model with a 2.1 billion hard cap.

This suggests that price move is supported by both recent price strength and long-term fundamental upgrades that improve DOT’s scarcity and utility. A confirmed breakout above the $0.864–$0.865 resistance zone, which could open a path toward $0.885.

The immediate trend is cautiously bullish but faces a test at resistance. The key concrete event is a community vote for a new Moonshot V2 Launchpad listing, which could influence sentiment.

If buying pressure continues and DOT holds above $0.834, the next target is $0.885. The risk case is a rejection at current levels and a fallback toward the $0.806 (61.8% Fib) support.

The market is balancing optimism over ecosystem developments with the need to overcome nearby technical selling pressure. Traders are watching for a price reaction around $0.864 as well as the results from the community listing vote.

Polkadot’s rise is fueled by a combination of positive social narrative and underlying technical strength, though it now faces a critical resistance test. Zcash Gains 5% as Fortitude Mining Holdings Acquires Facility
