    Niger Assembly Passes N613.9bn 2024 Budget

    The Niger House of Assembly has passed the state N613.994 billion 2024 budget.

    The Speaker of the House, Mr Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, represented by Mrs Afiniki Dauda, the Deputy Speaker, said this at a plenary in Minna on Wednesday.

    Sarkindaji said the budget was made up of N149.332 billion recurrent expenditure and N464.661 billion capital expenditure.

    He said that the budget should be submitted to the house three months to the end of the year to give room for proper scrutiny and early passage. Naira Devaluation Deepens Economic Crisis in Nigeria

    Gov. Umaru Bago had on Dec. 20 presented the 2024 budget of N613, 274 billion to the House for approval.

    But the lawmakers raised the amount to N613.994 billion and increase of N719, 917 million.
