Aliyu-Ahmed said during the event that the money was given to the constituents with viable business plans to enable them have sustainable means of livelihoods. He said, ”The initiative is geared towards offering financial support to individuals at this time of economic downturn.

”This will enable the beneficiaries to invest and create jobs for themselves and other people.”

Aliyu-Ahmed added that each of the 70 beneficiaries would receive N500,000 as a non-refundable business grant to make them self-reliant and financially independent.

The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Interior, also distributed 100 wheelchairs to persons living with disabilities and 2,500 bags of fertilizer to farmers in the constituency.

According to him, the gesture further underscores his commitment to supporting his constituents to boost inclusive socio-economic growth and development. He said that most of the beneficiaries already have good business plans for small-scale enterprises as well as engage in farming activities that were required to be supported.

Aliyu-Ahmed said that the wheelchairs were meant to ease the suffering of persons living with disabilities in the constituency.

He said, “Our people have given us the mandate and this is the time to bring meaningful development and provide service to the people through quality representation and sustainable dividends of democracy.”
