How to Use Treasury Bills for Rent, School Fees Payment Plan

Most Nigerians pay their bills between one day and three hundred sixty-five days, and investment in treasury bills is also periodic: 91-day, 182-day, or 364-day to maturity. Many people don’t know how to treat money well, and they continue to complain about things they can control.

It is simple: every financial obligation that has a date can be planned before it matures. But most people wait, thinking the amount needed will always come around: ‘in somehow-somehow expectations.’

For bill payers, parents, and tenants, it doesn’t make sense to keep cash in banks and draw huge amounts for any payment you knew would arise in a couple of months. The next bills could be planned ahead, and this will not only give peace of mind but also ease pressure and protect your sanity.

I mean, take for instance, there are 91-day treasury bill papers for students that make school fee payments every semester. There are 182-day treasury bills for people that need to make certain payments every six months, and 364-day treasury bills can be used to structure your annual rent or even vacation.

This is actually an alternative to savings. Some people keep huge amounts in savings accounts since they don’t have an immediate need for cash. Guess what your banks are doing with such funds? They buy government securities—since you don’t know, you should buy it anyway.

Many people want to buy treasury bills but don’t know where, when, and how to begin the process. First, treasury bills will allow you to invest your money in a non-risky way. You earn a fixed return on your investment; unlike stocks, investors purchase the treasury paper at a discount and receive the full value of the investment in the future.

Who should buy treasury bills? Treasury bills are good for meeting educational payments. The payment can be structured in a way that will match the next academic payment for children in schools. Investment banking firms would tell you investment in treasury bills is an excellent opportunity to invest in one of the safest short-term government securities available in Nigeria.

Investors have continued to take advantage of this investment window to put their short-term funds to work securely. Based on FSDH indicative rates, investors can earn up to 19.65% on investment. #How to Use Treasury Bills for Rent, School Fees Payment Plan NGX lists Nigeria’s First Telecom Company, Legend Internet Plc
