Dangote Offers 10‑Day Credit, Free Logistics to All Petrol Dealers

The Dangote Group announced a new supply arrangement on Tuesday, offering petrol‑station owners and dealers a 10‑day credit facility backed by a bank guarantee, alongside free direct delivery and other incentives.

The initiative, disclosed in a statement posted on the company’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, aims to ease cash‑flow pressures on retailers and deepen market penetration of the refinery’s fuel output .

Under the scheme, participating dealers can place orders of at least 5,000 litres and enjoy a ten‑day payment window secured by a bank guarantee. The fuel supplied will be priced at the refinery’s current gantry rate of ₦699 per litre, a reduction of ₦129 (about 15.6 %) from the previous ₦828 per litre .

“Dangote’s 10‑day credit facility underscores how Nigeria’s post‑subsidy, liberalised fuel market is rapidly evolving,” the statement read. “By offering dealers a short‑term credit window, free logistics, and a sharply lower gantry price, the refinery is directly addressing two of the biggest constraints facing independent marketers: working‑capital pressure and high distribution costs.”

The company urged operators to register their outlets promptly to benefit from the competitive pricing and logistics support. Free direct delivery to registered stations is slated to commence shortly, further reducing transportation costs for dealers .

The move intensifies the ongoing price war in Nigeria’s downstream sector, pressuring importers and smaller marketers who lack similar credit terms. Analysts note that the credit‑backed supply model could shift market power toward integrated refiners with strong balance sheets and logistics capabilities . #Dangote Offers 10‑Day Credit, Free Logistics to All Petrol Dealers#
