Bitcoin Price Tops $80k on U.S. Treasury Liquidity Tailwind

Bitcoin (BTC) price is up 4.48% in 24 hours to $80,482 on Tuesday, outperforming the broader market’s 3.42% gain, primarily driven by a powerful mix of renewed institutional demand and macro liquidity tailwinds.

The rally is anchored by the strongest week of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF inflows since October 2025, with nearly $2 billion added over five sessions.

This demand coincided with the U.S. Treasury’s August 19 announcement to at least double its long-term bond buyback caps to $4 billion per operation starting September 9, a move interpreted as adding dollar liquidity and suppressing yields.

Wall Street is aggressively buying the dip, and macro policy is creating a favourable environment for scarce, non-yielding assets like Bitcoin and Gold.

The price surge triggered a cascade of liquidations, with $136.46 million in BTC positions wiped out in 24h, 66% of which were shorts.

Technically, Bitcoin decisively broke above the $79,500 resistance, with the RSI at 68.49 confirming strong momentum without being overbought.

Traders said leveraged bears were forced to cover, amplifying the upward move, while the breakout opens a path toward higher prices. A sustained close below the 7-day simple moving average at $79,614 could indicate the breakout is failing.

The immediate bullish structure depends on holding the $79,500 breakout level. The key upcoming event is the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium (Aug 27–29), where Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s keynote on “Financial Innovation” could influence macro sentiment.

A slew of crypto analysts said the trend is bullish but extended; the market is watching for consolidation or a pullback to gather strength for the next leg.

Bitcoin’s reaction to the $80,000–$82,000 resistance zone: a rejection here could lead to a test of support near $77,000. The 24-hour gain is supported by fundamental institutional buying and favourable macro liquidity, with technicals confirming the move. NVIDIA Tokenised bStock Falls as Investors Chase US Yields
