The management of BOC Gases Nigeria Plc has notified the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Ltd, shareholders and investing public of its name change to Industrial and Medical Gases Nigeria Plc.

The Managing Director, Mr Ayodeji Oseni, disclosed this in a notice sent to the Nigerian Exchange on Thursday in Lagos, according to a document obtained from the platform.

Oseni said that the change of name was sequel to the purchase of 60 per cent of BOC Gases, formerly controlled by BOC Holdings UK (a member of the Linde Group) by TY Holdings Ltd.

According to him, this has also resulted in the change of the company’s logo and trademark. Oseni also added that the company had obtained a new certificate of incorporation from the Corporate Affairs Commission.

TY Holdings Ltd in August acquired additional 249.75 million ordinary shares, representing 60 per cent of the outstanding shares in the company previously owned by BOC Holdings UK.

TY Holdings, a Lagos-based investment management firm, is chaired by General Theophilus Danjuma (rtd).

The purchase brings the total ownership of TY Holdings in BOC Gases to 72 per cent, as the investment firm previously owned 12 per cent of the industrial and medical gases manufacturer and marketer. # BOC Gases Name Changes as TY Danjuma Buyout Foreign Interest
