XRP Price Rises as Ripple Deepens Korean Bank Ties

Ripple (XRP) posted gains as Ripple continues to deepen its footprint across Asia, building key cross-border payments partnerships. Trading volume is up significantly over the last 24 hours, rising 111% to $2.45 billion in transaction value.

According to a market report, XRP became the top-traded cryptocurrency on South Korean exchanges on 5 October 2026, overtaking Bitcoin.

Traders said the surge coincided with the XRP Seoul 2026 conference, where Kakao Bank announced plans to build its own blockchain infrastructure by 2027 and explore XRPL integration for custody and asset tokenisation.

Other banks, such as Woori and K Bank, also expressed interest in pilot programs. What this means: This is bullish for XRP’s regional adoption, signalling serious exploration by major financial institutions.

However, analysts caution that local trading dynamics and the multi-year timeline for bank rollouts mean this may not immediately translate to global demand or price impact.

At the XRP Seoul 2026 event, Ripple showcased partnerships with four Korean financial institutions: Kbank, Kyobo Securities, Woori Bank, and Jeonbuk Bank (JB Bank).

These collaborations span cross-border payments using Ripple Payments and custody solutions, though Ripple did not confirm the settlement assets (XRP, RLUSD, or fiat).

This is neutral-to-bullish for XRP, demonstrating Ripple’s growing institutional footprint. The lack of confirmed XRP settlement demand tempers immediate bullishness, but the expanding network builds long-term utility potential.

The XRPL’s AI Hub recorded over 12 million micro-payments as of 5 October 2026, settling 6,885 XRP and 10,744 RLUSD.

RippleX’s engineering head highlighted the ledger’s role as infrastructure for autonomous AI agents, with activity averaging about 450,000 payments daily.

This is a bullish development for XRP’s utility, showcasing real, growing use in the agentic economy. However, the minuscule XRP volume settled so far underscores that this is an early-stage narrative, not yet a major demand driver.

XRP’s current trajectory is defined by concrete institutional exploration in Asia and early validation in AI micro-transactions.

While these developments build a stronger foundation for long-term use cases, their near-term price impact remains tempered by execution timelines and modest settled volumes. Ripple’s CEO Sees XRP Hitting $10trn Market Cap
