XRP Price Climbs as Goldman Sachs Leads ETF Holdings in Q2

Ripple (XRP) price climbed by 1.31% to $1.38, slightly outperforming a modestly positive broader market, driven primarily by resilient institutional demand via spot ETFs and positive regulatory developments in its ecosystem.

Spot XRP exchange-traded funds recorded their ninth consecutive day of net inflows on August 28, bringing cumulative net inflows to approximately $1.6 billion since launch.

Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seyffart noted the flows are “surprisingly resilient” given XRP’s price decline, with investment advisers being the largest allocators.

This persistent buying through regulated products provides a steady bid underneath the market. Institutional capital is methodically accumulating XRP exposure, viewing current levels as attractive for the long term, which helps cushion against sharp sell-offs.

The SEC cleared the registration statement for Evernorth Holdings, an XRP treasury company backed by Ripple, paving the way for its merger with a SPAC and a Nasdaq listing under ticker “XRPN”.

Wall Street’s interest in XRP appears to be gaining momentum, with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. emerging as the largest institutional holder of spot XRP ETF positions.

According to Goldman Sachs’ Q2 2026 13F filing, the investment bank reported $87.45 million in XRP ETF exposure, equivalent to 84,054,142 XRP.

The filing represents an $83.15 million increase from the previous quarter, placing Goldman Sachs well ahead of other institutions with reported exposure to spot XRP ETFs.

The development stands out because Goldman Sachs liquidated its XRP ETF holdings in full in Q1 2026. At the time, the firm held $154 million across four products from Bitwise, Franklin Templeton, Grayscale, and 21Shares.

However, Goldman Sachs has since returned to the market, accumulating $87.45 million worth of XRP ETF shares and taking the top spot among institutional holders.

Concurrently, XRP is prominently featured in the top “SEC/CFTC Digital Commodities” narrative, reinforcing its status as a regulated asset. These developments bolster investor confidence in XRP’s institutional infrastructure.

Regulatory progress and traditional market access are reducing perceived risk, making XRP more palatable to a broader investor base.

The immediate technical structure shows XRP consolidating between Fibonacci support at $1.34 and resistance near $1.42 (38.2% retracement). The 7-day simple moving average at $1.40 acts as a near-term pivot.

If XRP holds above the $1.34–$1.35 support confluence, the path of least resistance points toward a retest of the $1.42–$1.45 zone. However, a decisive break below $1.30 could trigger a deeper correction toward the next key support at $1.25.

The most concrete upcoming catalyst is the potential activation of the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment on the XRP Ledger mainnet, scheduled for September 11, which aims to improve DeFi stability and could attract further institutional use.

The bias is cautiously bullish above $1.34, but the market remains range-bound until a clear catalyst emerges.

The combination of unwavering ETF demand and forward progress in regulatory and traditional market integration provides a solid foundation for XRP, though the price remains in a consolidation phase awaiting a decisive catalyst. XRP Falls as Ripple Prime Opens Wall Street Swap Desk
