Robinhood Launches Crypto Trading for UK Investors

Robinhood on Monday announced it is launching access to crypto trading in the UK, enabling customers to trade digital assets directly through Bitstamp UK Ltd, in the single Robinhood app alongside their stocks & shares ISA, equities, options and futures.

In a notice, the company said it is introducing crypto trading with zero trading fees, including no account maintenance or custody fees.

Robinhood said its new product provides a transparent, low-cost alternative to many incumbent UK platforms, which often rely on opaque pricing structures and apply wide spreads that can erode customers’ returns.

It will begin rolling out to eligible UK customers this week, an official notice said.

With this launch, Robinhood said it is enhancing its all-in-one platform for UK investors, giving customers access to more than 50 cryptocurrencies within its app, including Bitcoin ($BTC), Ethereum ($ETH), XRP ($XRP) and Hyperliquid ($HYPE).

“A new wave of UK investors sees digital assets as an important part of a diversified portfolio,” said Jordan Sinclair, President of Robinhood U.K. Ltd and GM of Bitstamp UK Ltd. “With today’s launch, we’re taking another major step toward becoming the all-in-one investment platform for the UK.”

To complement the launch of crypto trading, Robinhood said it is also introducing Robinhood Cortex Digests for Crypto.

Powered by generative AI, Cortex Digests analyses breaking news, market data, technical indicators and Robinhood’s proprietary insights to explain – in plain English – the key factors driving price movements in individual crypto assets.

It is designed to give investors greater confidence by providing timely, easy-to-understand market context that supports more informed investment decisions.

The launch of crypto trading also expands Robinhood’s growing crypto ecosystem for UK customers. UK developers can build on the Robinhood Chain. Built on the Arbitrum platform to institutional standards and natively connected to Robinhood’s onchain ecosystem, this Layer 2 blockchain provides a turnkey environment for developers.

Since the global launch on 1 July, it has already generated more than $18 billion in DEX trading volume and surpassed $840m in total value locked (TVL). SpaceX Tokenised bStocks Down 4% on Derivative Pressure
