NIA Unveils Podcast Studio to Boost Insurance Awareness
The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) has unveiled a podcast studio to improve public engagement and insurance education.
The initiative also aims to strengthen digital communication and promote better understanding of insurance services nationwide.
Speaking at the ceremony, NIA Chairman, Mr Kunle Ahmed, described the platform as a historic milestone.
He said the studio represented a strategic investment in modern storytelling and stronger stakeholder engagement.
Ahmed noted that the insurance industry had suffered poor public visibility in spite of its economic contributions.
He said insurers had supported Nigeria through claims settlement, risk management and financial stability.
“The NIA podcast studio will serve as a multifunctional hub designed to educate, inform, and inspire,” Ahmed said.
He added that the platform would simplify complex insurance products and regulatory frameworks for Nigerians.
“It will help demystify insurance, promote transparency and make insurance easier to understand,” he said.
According to him, the studio will allow industry experts to discuss innovations and economic issues.
He said member companies and leaders would use the platform to share ideas and insights.
“While we have consistently delivered value and settled monumental claims, our stories have often not been told. Today, we are taking ownership of our narrative,” he said.
Ahmed said the platform reflected NIA’s commitment to embracing digital media and new communication channels.
“The studio belongs to the entire insurance industry, not just NIA,” he said, describing it as an open resource for insurers, regulators, partners and financial institutions.
Ahmed expressed confidence that quality audio and video content would deepen insurance penetration.
He said the project would help correct misconceptions and improve public trust in insurance.
He commended the NIA Secretariat and project team for delivering the initiative successfully.
Ahmed described the studio as a long-term investment that would provide industry-wide value.
Representing the Commissioner for Insurance, Dr Julius Odidi praised the initiative and pledged NAICOM’s support.
The Head of Lagos Control Office of NAICOM described the project as commendable.
The President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, Mrs Yetunde Ilori, congratulated NIA, saying: “This is a good investment in the right direction.”
She expressed confidence that the benefits of the project would soon become visible
A former NIA Chairman, Mr Gus Wiggle, described the studio as a monumental achievement.
The Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Managers Committee, Mr Segun Bankole, said insurance now had a stronger voice.
He urged stakeholders to support the platform by contributing educational content.
Representing Young Insurance Professionals, Mr Oluwaseyi Ibileke praised Ahmed’s leadership and mentorship
He said younger Nigerians preferred digital content through videos and audio platforms.
“The future belongs to us through the educational programmes unveiled through this podcast platform,” Ibileke said. #NIA Unveils Podcast Studio to Boost Insurance Awareness#
