XRP Trades at 54% Below Target Price – Dip Buyers Alert
Ripple (XRP) price has dropped, widening upside potential toward the 2026 target price, after recent selling pressure triggered a new dip-buyer alert.
The altcoin market shifted amid geopolitical uncertainty, while profit-taking in Bitcoin dragged prices lower, with XRP, Binance Coin, and Ethereum following suit.
Ripple (XRP) price is down about 3% to $1.30, underperforming a slightly weaker wider market, driven mainly by heavy speculative derivatives activity during a macro-driven sell-off. The token has struggled to maintain its positions, signalling a 54% upside opportunity with an average target price of $2.
Elevated derivatives selling pressure, with over $184 million in taker-buy volume on Binance perpetual swaps during the decline, indicating leveraged positions being unwound.
The drop coincided with over $184 million in taker-buy volume on Binance’s XRP perpetual swaps over several hours. This metric reflects executed buy orders in derivatives, often signalling aggressive short positioning or long liquidations, not direct spot buying.
The high volume suggests speculative capital was actively pushing the price lower. Leveraged traders amplified the decline, not necessarily a fundamental shift in XRP’s value.
A sustained drop in derivatives open interest and funding rates may indicate that selling pressure is exhausting. The crypto market dipped, with Bitcoin down 0.62%. The move was contextualised by September U.S. CPI inflation rising to 3.7% and PPI surging 1.3%.
This data reduced expectations for near-term Federal Reserve rate cuts, raising the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets like crypto.
Traders said XRP’s drop was part of a risk-off move across digital assets, driven by traditional macro concerns. Technically, XRP broke below the key $1.32 support level, with its 7-day RSI at an oversold 25.56.
The immediate battleground is the $1.28–$1.30 area. If this support holds, the price is likely to range-bound consolidate between $1.30 and $1.40. The next major macro catalyst is the U.S. Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index data due October 29.
The short-term trend is bearish, but oversold conditions could prompt a pause or a minor rebound. A daily close above $1.37 would point to a potential reversal, while a break below $1.28 would confirm continued downward momentum.
Leveraged washout and negative macro sentiment drove XRP’s decline, breaking a key support level. The path of least resistance remains down until buying interest re-emerges at lower levels.
