    NPFL: Barau FC holds Nasarawa United Goalless in Lafia

    NPFL: Barau FC holds Nasarawa United Goalless in Lafia

    Nasarawa United Football Club on Tuesday played a goalless draw with Barau FC of Kano in the matchday 18 fixture of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

    The match played at the Lafia Township Stadium ended goalless with both teams failing to capitalise on scoring opportunities.

    The Solid Miners, currently second on the league table with 32 points, had a strong home record in the 2025/2026 NPFL campaign, while Barau FC are 17th on the table with 21 points, having struggled to hold Nasarawa United to a draw in the match.

    In a post-match interview, the Technical Adviser of Nasarawa United Mbwas Mangut, said that it was not the result they wanted to maintain their position on the table, but unfortunately, they could not win the match at home.

    Mangut said  that he expected Barau FC, which is on  the botton  of the table, would put up a fight in order not to sink further, but his boys did not put up the spirit of urgency, especially in the first half of the match.

    He said that his team would work hard to up their game in  subsequent matches to return to the top of the league.

    Coach Ladan Boss of Barau FC, said that they had planned to take the maximum points in Lafia, but thank God for getting one point.
