Lionel Messi Agrees Deal to Purchase Spanish Second-Tier Side Eldense

Spanish second-division side C.D. Eldense has confirmed that Argentine great Lionel Messi has reached an agreement in principle to become the club’s new owner.

The Inter Miami forward is close to completing a deal to buy 100% of the club’s shares from majority owner TH Soluciones Group S.A.S., the Colombian investment group that took control of Eldense in October 2025.

According to reports in Spain and confirmed by the club on Wednesday, an announcement is expected in the coming days.

If completed, Eldense will become the second Spanish club owned by Messi, after he purchases UE Cornella in Spain’s fifth tier on April 16, 2026.

The 39-year-old, who has built a growing portfolio of football ownership interests, will take over a club that recently returned to LaLiga2 after promotion in the 2025-26 season following a 2-1 win against Atlético Madrileño.

Eldense said Messi’s takeover is now at an advanced stage. #Lionel Messi Agrees Deal to Purchase Spanish Second-Tier Side Eldense# Messi Scores 900th Career Goal, Joins Ronaldo in Elite Club
