Increasing Defections to APC: Tinubu is on Right Course

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Print Media, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, said the increasing number of politicians switching to the All Progressives Congress (APC) showed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and the direction of his administration.

Abdulaziz disclosed this when he addressed a mammoth crowd of APC supporters at a rally in Fagge, on Sunday in Kano. Abdulaziz said the president’s inclusive style had attracted members from across party lines and geopolitical zones.

“There is no party in Nigeria today that symbolises unity like the APC,” he declared. Abdulaziz stated that several Governors from the South‑South had aligned with the APC, and the party was gaining strength in the South‑East, predicting further defections. He dismissed a newly formed opposition coalition, pointing out that no sitting governor has joined it.

Abdulaziz highlighted key economic initiatives ongoing road and rail projects, compensation for communities affected by infrastructure work, and the introduction of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a production‑side subsidy to lower transport costs.

He cited the Sokoto–Badagry dual carriageway and the massive road construction in Northern states, including Kano, Niger and Katsina—as evidence of the administration’s development drive. “The president’s reforms are designed for long‑term stability and shared prosperity,” he said.

The presidential aide added that many Nigerians were beginning to “smile again” as the dividends of democracy become visible.

Abdulaziz concluded that the APC remained the strongest platform for national unity, progress and sustainable development, and urged continued support for  Tinubu’s agenda. #Increasing Defections to APC: Tinubu is on Right Course#
