Zcash Tops $1,000 as Investors Rotate into Privacy Coins

Zcash (ZEC) price extended its momentum, up by 1% to $1008.75 on Saturday, outperforming a down Bitcoin, primarily driven by a rotation into the privacy coin sector.

ZEC’s positive move diverged from Bitcoin’s 1.81% drop, showing it’s driven by alpha, not beta. The rally aligns with gains in other privacy assets, such as Dash, suggesting a narrative-driven rotation.

This indicates traders are allocating capital to the privacy sector, possibly as a thematic bet amid broader market consolidation. The move is less about a new ZEC-specific catalyst and more about capital seeking exposure to the privacy narrative as a group.

The network’s shielded supply has grown to about 4.86 million ZEC, signalling increased adoption. Furthermore, the NU7 governance process, with a coinholder vote deadline on September 14, keeps developer activity and community engagement high.

Steady fundamental progress provides a supportive backdrop for price, even during periods of consolidation.

Price action shows consolidation near the key $1,000 level following a strong rally. The nearest concrete event is the conclusion of the NU7 governance vote by September 14.

Technically, holding above $1000 could see a retest of the recent swing high at $1044.

The 78.6% Fibonacci retracement level at $967 serves as near-term support; a break below could signal a deeper cool-off. The short-term bias is cautiously bullish above $1000, but the market is seeking a new catalyst to extend gains.

ZEC’s ability to hold gains while Bitcoin sells off points to strong sector-specific demand, supported by solid ecosystem metrics. The key will be maintaining momentum above the psychologically important $1000 mark.

Grayscale’s Zcash Trust converted to an exchange-traded product (ZCSH) and listed on NYSE Arca on August 25. It has since accumulated approximately $34.4 million in net inflows, with a single-day peak of $12.6 million on September 2.

This provides a regulated, brokerage-friendly avenue for institutional and retail investors to gain exposure to ZEC. This is a bullish structural development for ZEC, as sustained ETF inflows represent a new, sticky source of demand. It directly addresses a prior barrier to institutional adoption. The success of this product could set a precedent for other privacy-focused assets. #Zcash Tops $1,000 as Investors Rotate into Privacy Coins# Zcash Gains 5% as Fortitude Mining Holdings Acquires Facility
