XRP Tops Up as MasterCard Acquires Ripple’s Partner BVNK

XRP price inched higher on Tuesday, trading at approximately $1.08 after the announcement that MasterCard has acquired Ripple’s partner BVNK. Traders said XRP’s ecosystem is expanding through strategic partnerships while its price tests key technical levels.

This continues to boost optimism about the token price outlook, though XRP has been trading against its own specific catalyst and tagging along with heavyweight crypto names’ price moves.

At $1.08, XRP has been struggling to break out after a failed attempt at $1.16 in recent weeks, down 64% year to date. But investors keep hope alive as Ripple continues to deepen its interest in cross-border payments and tokenisation.

Meanwhile, Mastercard has completed its acquisition of BVNK, a fintech platform operating in over 130 countries that provides infrastructure for converting, holding, and transferring digital assets, including XRP.

BVNK has been a technical partner to Ripple since 2024 and participated in Mastercard’s Crypto Partner Program. The acquisition aims to enhance Mastercard’s cross-border payment and settlement services for banks and fintechs by integrating blockchain infrastructure.

Crypto analysts said this is a neutral-to-bullish development for XRP’s utility. It signals deeper integration of XRP-related infrastructure within traditional finance giant Mastercard, potentially increasing institutional use cases for the XRP Ledger in settlements.

However, the impact is indirect, as Mastercard is building infrastructure rather than directly promoting the XRP token. Elsewhere, the XRP Ledger Foundation has partnered with infrastructure provider Ankr to deploy globally distributed public RPC nodes.

This provides free, managed endpoints in locations like New York, Singapore, and Amsterdam, allowing developers to connect to the XRPL without running their own infrastructure.

This is a bullish development for the XRP ecosystem’s long-term health, according to crypto analysts. By lowering technical barriers and reducing latency, the upgrade aims to attract more developers and applications to the XRPL, which could drive future network usage and demand.

Recall that XRP’s price recently rebounded from lows near $1.00 but has lost momentum at a significant resistance zone between the 50-day and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), clustered around $1.09-$1.10.

The 200-day sits much higher at $1.40. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is neutral near 45, indicating a lack of strong buying pressure. This presents a neutral-to-cautious short-term technical outlook.

Technical traders reported that a daily close above $1.10 could shift momentum and target higher resistance, while a rejection could see a retest of the $1.00 support level. Traders are watching for a decisive break in either direction, with volume as a key confirmation signal.

The total net inflow of XRP spot ETFs reached $1.1467 million in a single day on Monday. Only the Canary $XRP ETF (XRPC) experienced net inflows yesterday, with a daily net inflow of $1.1467 million, bringing its cumulative historical net inflows to $468 million.

As of the time of this report, the total net asset value of XRP spot ETFs stands at $1.007 billion, with an $XRP net asset ratio of 1.49%, and the cumulative historical net inflows have reached $1.51 billion.
