XRP Tops $1.44 as Ripple CEO Downplays Failed CLARITY Act
XRP rallied sharply, topping $1.4415 on Saturday after Ripple Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Brad Garlinghouse said the U.S. CLARITY Act failure changes nothing for the token.
Ripple CEO believes that cryptocurrency will ultimately prevail regardless of whether the closely watched Clarity Act manages to clear Congress.
During his appearance at a digital asset event in Kansas City on Tuesday, Garlinghouse reiterated his support for the landmark crypto market structure bill. However, its potential failure will not kill the industry, according to the influential executive.
“When you have a technology that’s better, faster, stronger… that usually wins,” Garlinghouse said. The Ripple boss argued that the existing financial system has failed to keep pace with technological change.
Garlinghouse has also questioned why the United States would risk surrendering its leadership position to overseas markets. His comments come at a particularly precarious moment for the Clarity Act, which is facing a crucial procedural vote in the Senate on Tuesday.
The token outperformed a modestly rising broader market, primarily driven by a surge in on-chain network activity signalling growing adoption.
The XRP Ledger processed over 2.34 million transactions in the past day, an 8.9% surge in network activity. This spike signals increased real-world usage and adoption, directly boosting demand for the token.
Institutional sentiment improved with news that Evernorth secured a $30M commitment for potential spot XRP buys, pending a shareholder vote on September 30 .
Concurrently, a wave of short liquidations, noted in social chatter, added fuel to the rally by forcing buybacks. Both strategic capital and market mechanics contributed to the move.
XRP is testing the upper boundary of a recent range near $1.45. The immediate trigger is the network activity surge, with the key level to watch at $1.45–$1.50.
Technical analysts said if buying pressure holds above $1.40, the next target is $1.50; a break below $1.30 would risk a deeper pullback. The bullish structure is intact but needs to confirm a breakout. A daily close above $1.45 would signal continuation toward $1.50.
The combination of robust on-chain activity and supportive institutional news provides a solid foundation for XRP’s rally. The key is whether it can convert this momentum into a sustained breakout. XRP Rises 3% as Ripple Updates AI Starter Kit for Stripe, Tempo
