XRP Price Rises as C2FO, Ripple Partner to Modernise Trade Finance
XRP jumped 3% to $1.33 on Wednesday as investors reacted positively to Ripple’s partnership with C2FO, the world’s largest working capital platform, to modernise trade finance using XRP Ledger.
The altcoin slightly outperformed the broader market, which rose 2.05%, driven largely by a beta-driven move with Bitcoin. The move aligns with a broader market uptick: the total crypto market cap rose 2.05%, and Bitcoin gained 2.11%.
XRP’s price action was largely driven by market beta rather than unique fundamentals. XRP is testing the 50% Fibonacci retracement resistance at $1.34, a level that has capped rallies. The 24h volume rose 7%, providing some confirmation.
Meanwhile, the Altcoin Season Index rose to 57, suggesting modest rotation into altcoins, which may have provided a tailwind. The price is at a technical inflexion point; breaking higher requires sustained buying pressure. A decisive 4-hour close above $1.34 is needed to confirm a breakout.
The immediate trigger is the ongoing Swell conference (until Oct 29), though past Ripple news has failed to move markets. The key resistance level is $1.34. If buyers reclaim it, a move toward the 200-day SMA near $1.40 is plausible.
Conversely, a break below the recent double-bottom support at $1.26 could trigger a decline toward $1.20. The structure is neutral-to-bullish but hinges on overcoming overhead supply. Watch for: Price reaction to Swell headlines and Bitcoin’s stability above $81,000.
Market-wide momentum and a technical test of resistance drove the 24 h gain, not a new catalyst. The path of least resistance depends on a clean break above $1.34.
C2FO and Ripple announced an initiative to bring the financing and settlement activity supporting the new C2FO Instant Pay solution™ onto the XRP Ledger (XRPL), a public blockchain.
Across global supply chains, businesses can wait 30, 60 or even 90 days after delivering goods and services to be paid, tying up cash they could otherwise use for payroll, inventory and new orders.
Today, C2FO Early Pay™ programs, including C2FO Dynamic Discounting™ and C2FO Dynamic Supply Chain Finance™, have already helped businesses access more than $ 520 billion in working capital by accelerating payment of approved invoices.
The official highlighted that even when an invoice is paid early, funds can still take several days to move through legacy bank settlement infrastructure.
C2FO Instant Pay™ addresses that challenge by enabling businesses to receive payments instantly, using XRPL and RLUSD, Ripple’s U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, for settlement.
Businesses will continue to access early payment through C2FO as they do today. Participating capital providers fund instant payments, which settle on the XRP Ledger, letting suppliers receive funds in seconds rather than days, with invoice terms and due dates staying exactly as agreed.
Purpose-built for institutional use, RLUSD has grown to more than $2.5 billion in market capitalization, with more than $1 billion issued on XRPL. XRPL settles transactions in 3–5 seconds at a fraction of a cent, operating 24/7.
“We’ve spent years building a platform that gives businesses more information and control over their working capital. The next opportunity is to make the financial infrastructure behind our marketplace as efficient and connected as the experience we’ve created for customers,” said Ragui Selwanes, President & COO Americas at C2FO.
“Working with Ripple and leveraging XRPL, we have built a new model for financing approved receivables that has the potential to broaden access to capital while preserving the relationships and experience our customers already trust.”
“Working capital is a powerful example of where blockchain can make an existing financial market work better. C2FO brings an established marketplace, real commercial activity and demonstrated financing demand,” said Markus Infanger, SVP, RippleX at Ripple.
“XRPL is well suited to this use case because it can represent and move financial assets with fast, deterministic settlement and low transaction costs, while RLUSD provides a stable way to settle those transactions. Together with C2FO, this creates an opportunity to address billions of dollars in commercial activity and make approved receivables easier to finance.”
