Ripple XRP Stages Price Recovery as Sell Pressure Eases
Ripple (XRP) price is up 1.46% to $1.30 on Monday, outperforming a modestly rising broader market, primarily driven by a macro-driven rebound in risk assets. The move appears to be a technical bounce from key support, amplified by improved market-wide sentiment.
Last week’s market correction was closely linked to developments in the macroeconomic environment, and the cryptocurrency market was downbeat.
The latest U.S. inflation data showed that September CPI rose 3.7% year over year, accelerating from 3.4% in August. Consumer prices increased 0.6% month over month, with energy prices climbing 5.2% and gasoline prices rising 9.1%.
The subsequent September PPI report showed a 1.3% monthly increase, the largest since March 2022, while annual producer-price inflation reached 6.3%.
The two stronger inflation readings reinforced expectations that the Federal Reserve could maintain restrictive monetary policy or raise interest rates further.
Crypto and technology stocks are facing similar financial constraints: elevated interest rates increase financing and holding costs, renewed inflation reduces expectations for monetary easing, and tighter financial conditions weigh on valuations.
XRP rose on a broad crypto market rebound, lifted by retreating oil prices and improved risk appetite. The entire crypto market cap rose 0.62% in 24h, with Bitcoin up 0.61%.
The rebound was fueled by a drop in oil prices (Brent crude fell ~2%) which eased inflation fears and boosted risk appetite across equities and crypto.
As a major altcoin, XRP benefited from this improving macro backdrop. XRP’s gain was largely a beta move, riding a wave of improved sentiment rather than being driven by its own news.
The token found buying interest at a critical support zone between $1.25 and $1.30, aligning with the 50% Fibonacci retracement level.
The 24-hour trading volume surged 53% to $1.79 billion, confirming the bounce was backed by significant participation. The price action suggests dip-buying emerged at a well-watched level, providing short-term stabilization.
A daily close above the 7-day simple moving average at $1.31, signalling near-term momentum, is turning positive. The immediate trend is neutral to bullish, contingent on holding key levels.
The next concrete trigger is the weekly U.S. spot XRP ETF flow report; a return to inflows would be a positive catalyst. The key resistance is at the $1.40 level, which capped rallies earlier this month.
The path of least resistance is sideways to slightly higher, provided macro conditions remain stable. A break and daily close above $1.40 would target the $1.50–$1.60 zone; failure to hold $1.25 support would open the door to a test of $1.
XRP’s rise is a combination of market-wide relief and a technical bounce, not a sign of renewed independent strength. Nigeria’s 10-Year U.S. Dollar Bond Yield Falls 6 bps
