    NASD Tracks Lower as CSCS, Niger Delta Exploration Shares Fell

    Due to selloffs in unlisted companies’ shares, the NASD over-the-counter exchange declines below the N1 trillion mark, according to trading data for the just concluded week amidst a rout in the Nigerian Exchange.

    In the just concluded week, NASD OTC securities exchange index (NSI) closed the week with a negative movement. Due to a negative trading pattern, the NSI return decreased by 1.07% to close the week at 754.04 points against 762.18 points in the previous week.

    Trading data indicates that Investors lose ₦10 billion. As a result, NASD OTC market capitalization fell to N990 billion due to negative movement in prices from N1 trillion.

    There was a 2113.14% increase in the total value traded, according to market data.  Investors traded a total of ₦3,157,715,507.10 compared to ₦ 142,680,612.71 in the previous week.

    Hence, the value of total trade activity for the year inched to ₦ 25,678,362,800.72. Last week, the total volume traded printed at 13,565,640 units compared to 1,820,637 units in the previous week.

    This translates to a 645.10% increase in trade volume compared with the previous week’s position, lifting total volume traded for the year to 3,254,439,432 units.

    VFD Group PLC ranking top among the five most traded securities by volume and NIPCO PLC was the fifth most traded stock by volume traded in the week.

    Also, VFD Group PLC ranking top among the five most traded securities by value and Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria PLC stood as the fifth most traded Security by value for the week.

    NIPCO PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦11.26 billion closed the week at ₦60.00 representing a 3.45 per cent increase from the previous close of ₦58.00.

    Central Securities Clearing System PLC, which currently holds a market capitalization of ₦67.15 billion closed the week at ₦13.43 representing a 9.93 per cent decrease from the previous close of ₦14.91.

    At a market capitalisation of ₦34.55 billion, Niger Delta Exploration & Production PLC closed the week at ₦190.50 representing a 9.22 per cent decrease from the previous close of ₦209.84.

    NASD PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦7.81 billion closed the week at ₦16.00 representing a 1.11 per cent decrease from the previous close of ₦16.18. READ: FGN Bond Yield Tracks Lower as Naira Appreciates
