    MTN Nigeria announces ₦4.97 final dividend

    MTN Nigeria announces ₦4.97 final dividend, asks shareholders to complete e-dividend registration

    MTN Nigeria communication Plc has announced a ₦4.97 kobo dividend per 2 kobo ordinary share for 2019 payable to its shareholders.

    The telecom firm made this known in a document submitted to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, signed by Uto Ukpanah, the Company Secretary.

    It said that this dividend announcement brings total payment to shareholder for the financial year ended 31 December 2019 to ₦7.92 kobo.

    However, the firm explains that the dividend is subject to appropriate withholding tax and approval will be paid to shareholders whose names appears in the Register of Members at the close of business on April 17, 2020.

    According to the document, MTN Nigeria stated that the Register of Shareholders will be closed on April 20, 2020.

    Also, the telecommunication giant said dividend will be paid electronically to shareholders on May 19, 2020.

    However, it said the payment would be made to shareholders whose names appears on the Register of Shareholders on 17 April, 2020.

    Also, that such shareholders must have completed e-dividend registration and mandated the registrar to pay their dividends directly into designated bank accounts.

    MTN Nigerian advised that shareholders with dividend warrants and share certificates that have remained unclaimed,

    …or are yet to be presented for payment, returned for validation should complete the e-dividend registration.

    Meanwhile, the group said it annual general meeting will be hold at Rooftop Event Hall, MTN Plaza, Falomo Ikoyi, Lagos on May 15, 2020.
