Moniepoint Names Ross Strike New Head of M&A, Investor Relations
An all-in-one digital financial services platform for businesses in emerging markets, Moniepoint, has named Ross Strike as the Company’s new Head of M&A and Investor Relations with immediate effect.
In a statement, the fintech company said Ross has over a decade of experience in investment banking and venture capital, leading investments in over ten venture capital funds across Africa and South Asia, and direct investments in several early-stage companies.
This follows the appointment of Pawel Swiatek as Chief Operating Officer. It said its COO joined in March from the American financial services organisation Capital One.
Moniepoint has also recently been recognised by the Financial Times as Africa’s second-fastest growing company in the publication’s annual independent survey of the continent’s most rapidly expanding corporates.
Previously, Ross worked at the United Kingdom’s development finance institution, British International Investment (BII), where he helped to scale its early-stage activities as a founding member of its venture capital team. He started his career in Citi’s Investment Banking division, where he was involved in various capital markets and M&A transactions.
Ross is a graduate of the Ivey Business School at Western University and is a Kauffman Fellow, a prestigious programme for emerging leaders in the venture capital industry.
Speaking to the appointment, Tosin Eniolorunda, Chief Executive Officer of Moniepoint, said. “We are thrilled to welcome Ross Strike to our team as our Head of M&A and Investor Relations.
“Core to Moniepoint’s strategy, as we scale, is hiring world-class talent. Ross has a proven track record of success in venture capital, making strategic investments and managing transactions – all of which will be invaluable as Moniepoint grows further.”
Reacting to his appointment, Ross Strike said, “I’m delighted to join Tosin and his team in helping Moniepoint realise its full potential as Africa’s largest fintech. Together, we will show how entrepreneurship and innovation can make a real difference in the world, creating more productive, inclusive, and sustainable societies.”
