Labour Party Disowns Abure’s Nomination Forms, Cautions Aspirants

The Labour Party (LP) has dismissed nomination forms allegedly issued by its former National Chairman, Julius Abure, describing them as “worthless papers”,  warning party members and aspirants against patronising him.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa made this known in a statement issued to newsmen on Sunday in Abuja.

According to him, the leadership has received numerous enquiries following the circulation of social media images showing Abure presenting purported nomination forms to some individuals in Abia.

Asogwa said only forms issued through the party’s National Secretariat in Utako, Abuja, were valid for the 2027 general elections.

He maintained that Sen. Nenadi Usman remained the party’s authentic National Chairman.

“Any so-called Labour Party nomination form obtained from Julius Abure or any other unauthorised source is nothing but worthless paper being peddled by political fraudsters seeking to deceive unsuspecting persons,” he said.

He advised the public and intending aspirants to remain vigilant and avoid dealing with individuals allegedly posing as party officials.

The spokesman also questioned why Abure’s alleged sale of forms appeared concentrated in Abia.

He said Gov. Alex Otti of Abia, whom he described as the national leader of the party, would not succumb to “cheap blackmail, intimidation or street-corner political theatrics.”

Asogwa further accused Abure of unlawfully impersonating the office of the National Chairman, describing the action as a criminal offence with serious legal implications. #Labour Party Disowns Abure’s Nomination Forms, Cautions Aspirants#
