How to Get Your Personal Tax Identification Number

Unless you have the right information, you may struggle to get the easiest thing done, like your personal tax identification number (Tax ID).  Don’t be scared to be civil; your tax payment may not even be enough to buy a bottle of wine.

By Nigerian tax law, it is not all income earners that are taxable, but all taxable persons are income earners. The convenient part of it is that tax payment need not be burdensome, and it looks like the new tax law actually achieves the principle.

Without leaving your house, you can get your tax ID by logging into Nigerian Revenue Service seamless tax ID retrieval portal.

Click this link to the portal -https://taxid.nrs.gov.ng/, then click on “individual.” There is a bar that shows tax retrieval method that pleases you to use. Use NIN; it is simple.

Once your NIN is verified with your personal details, then get your 13-digit number tax ID.

Meanwhile, you can also get your National Identification Number (NIN) via USSD; dial *346# on your mobile phone. You must use the same phone number that you provided to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) when you registered.
