The Federal Government is collaborating with the World Bank on a new project to enhance education quality, access, teacher support, and development, as well as support for out-of-school children.

The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, commended the initiative during a meeting with the World Bank Steering Committee on Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equality (HOPE) in Abuja on Thursday.

Mamman expressed hope for a transformed education system with the project’s implementation, set to commence in a few months.

He acknowledged the World Bank as a strategic partner to the Nigerian government, with several ongoing programmes, including the new initiative.

“The project aims to address concerns around education quality, access, teacher support, and out-of-school children.”

Also, Scherezad Latif, Practice Manager of Education at the World Bank West Africa, noted that the parties discussed lessons learned from similar programmes, hoping for meaningful results.

Latif assured of the programme’s implementation to promote quality education delivery in the country.

“The HOPE project aims to address quality, access, and reduce out-of-school numbers in Nigeria, with implementation set to begin in 2025. #FG Partners World Bank on Education Project
