FCMB Gains 11% as Group Hints at H1 2026 Earnings, Incentive Plan

Financial services company FCMB Plc gained more than 11% in a week as investor sentiment improved ahead of the first-half 2026 earnings schedule, due to be released in the latter part of the month.

The banking group’s share price is projected to see additional uptrend as analysts anticipate robust earnings performance to drive the group’s next stock market re-rating.

FCMB Group Plc has announced a plan to release its unaudited financial statement for the first half of 2026 on or before July 31, according to a regulatory disclosure obtained by MarketForces Africa.

The financial services company’s share price increased by 11.11% over the last five trading sessions on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) as investors stepped up buying action ahead of earnings.

With more than N119 million in transaction value on 10.028 million shares, FCMB Group climbed to N12 on Friday in the local bourse, from N10.80 at the beginning of the week.

Hence, the market value of the financial group, with 65.954 billion shares outstanding, increased by more than 11% to N791.455 billion, according to trading data reviewed at MarketForces Africa.

An official statement released following the board of directors meeting to consider its financial statement for publication indicates the group plans long-term incentives for its shareholders, shedding light on the details.

FCMB hinted that its Unaudited Financial Statements of the Company for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 have been approved by the board at the meeting on Friday.  The board also approved a long-term incentive plan, the approval of which is subject to regulatory approval.

“Following the Board’s approval, the Unaudited Financial Statements will be published on or before July 30, 2026, in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements”, FMCB Group said.

The group maintained that its closed period remains in action until 24 hours after the results have been released. FCMB declared a closed period from 1 July 2026, restricting the Company’s insiders from transacting in the shares of the Company. #FCMB Gains 11% as Group Hints at H1 2026 Earnings, Incentive Plan# GCR Upgrades FCMB Ratings to A/AI, Outlook Stable
