Ethereum Price climbs to $2,450 on Spot ETF Inflow

Ethereum (ETH) price climbed by 1.03% to $2,449, significantly outperforming a nearly flat Bitcoin, primarily driven by a powerful combination of sustained institutional ETF demand and a derivatives squeeze.

The core driver is accelerating institutional demand through U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs, which pulled in a net $693 million over five consecutive days ending August 21, with daily flows accelerating.

This surge of spot buying collided with a market where readily available supply is shrinking—exchange-held ETH dropped about 15% from June to mid-August, and over 33% of the supply is locked in staking.

Institutional capital is providing a strong, sustained bid. The reduced liquid supply amplifies the price impact of this buying pressure. The daily ETF flow data: continued positive inflows are crucial for sustaining the rally.

The rally forced a cascade of liquidations, with ETH accounting for $264.92 million of a $1.21 billion crypto wipeout in 24 hours. This added reflexive buying pressure.

Furthermore, the broader “SEC/CFTC Digital Commodities” narrative, which explicitly includes Ethereum, is the top-trending market category, reducing regulatory uncertainty and improving sentiment.

Leveraged positions magnified the move upward, while regulatory clarity is encouraging risk-on positioning. The immediate technical structure is extended but bullish. Key support is the $2,400–$2,450 zone.

The immediate resistance is the weekly high of $2,546. The trend is up, but the high RSI (78) warns of overbought conditions and potential for a healthy pullback.

A weekly close above $2,450 to confirm strength for a run toward $2,550. The next major macro catalyst is the Senate procedural vote on the Clarity Act, scheduled for September 15.

The combination of verified ETF demand, a supply squeeze, and supportive derivatives activity propelled ETH higher. The move shows alpha, not just beta, indicating strong coin-specific conviction.NVDAB Price Drops Ahead of NVIDIA Q2 Earnings
