Cadbury Nigeria Slightly as Investors Increase Positions

Cadbury Nigeria Plc has been an active player in the Nigerian stock market, experiencing price fluctuations over the last trading days. Market value of the company inched higher to N57 billion amidst tough operating conditions facing consumer goods players.

According to data from the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), there is a slight recovery in its stock price, rising from NGN24.3 on March 5, 2025, to NGN25 on March 6, 2025.

This 2.88% increase comes after a period of decline, signalling renewed investor interest. However, despite this price movement, the stock holds significant growth potential based on forecasts and valuation metrics.

Transactions on Cadbury Nigeria shares have been fluctuating, with the highest trading volume recorded on March 4, 2025, at 2,289,969 shares, indicating strong investor activity despite the declining price.

According to Simply Wall Street, Cadbury is trading above its estimated fair value of NGN22.08, suggesting that it may be overvalued at its current market price of NGN25 (as per NGX).

However, when compared to its peers. Cadbury’s 0.4x price to sales (P/S) ratio is lower than the industry average of 0.6x, implying that it is undervalued compared to competitors.

Despite this, the stock appears expensive when compared to its estimated fair P/S ratio of 0.3x, indicating a potential overvaluation relative to revenue expectations. Cadbury Nigeria shows promising growth potential. Analysts predict a rise to NGN33.47, representing a 37.7% growth from its current market price.

Cadbury’s earnings are projected to grow by 52.1% per annum, while revenue is expected to increase by 14.2% per annum. This indicate that while the stock has faced short-term price corrections, its long-term fundamentals remain strong.

A significant trading volume on March 4, 2025 (over 2.2 million shares) suggests that market participants were actively repositioning. Increased demand from investors contributed to the price rebound on March 6.

While currently trading slightly above its fair value, its low Price-to-Sales ratio compared to industry peers indicate that it is still an attractive investment for long-term investors. #Cadbury Nigeria Slightly as Investors Increase Positions#
