Bitcoin Climbs as French Capital B Increases BTC Holdings
Bitcoin (BTC) price climbed about 1% to $79,172.64, slightly underperforming a broader market that rose 0.77%, primarily driven by a confirmed bullish technical pattern and sustained institutional demand.
The price climbed after French Capital B acquired 376 Bitcoin for a total of 25.3 million euros, lifting its holdings to 3,521 from 3,145.
The purchase was funded after Capital B completed roughly 30.1 million euros in capital raises, including a private placement backed by investors Adam Back and TOBAM, according to a Monday announcement.
The company bought the Bitcoin at an average price of 67,182 euros apiece, with Swiss quote Bank Europe executing the purchase and Taurus providing custody.
Technical analysis showed Bitcoin’s 50-day exponential moving average is crossing above its 200-day average, forming a bullish “golden cross” for the first time since November 2025.
This pattern is historically associated with momentum shifts. The move is validated by a 40.23% spike in 24-hour trading volume to $33.06 billion, indicating strong conviction behind the breakout.
The market structure has shifted to favour buyers in the medium term, with increased participation confirming the move. A weekly close above the $80,000 psychological resistance is anticipated to confirm the uptrend’s strength.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted approximately $987 million in net inflows for the week ending September 4, part of a $3.8 billion inflow streak since mid-August.
Steady capital from regulated products is creating a durable demand floor, absorbing potential selling pressure. The immediate path hinges on macroeconomic data. The key technical level to hold is the 50% Fibonacci retracement at $78,550.
If Bitcoin stays above this level, it targets a breakout above $80,000. The major near-term event is the U.S. August CPI report on Friday, September 11. A hotter-than-expected reading could revive fears of Federal Reserve rate hikes and trigger a sell-off toward the next support at $77,200.
Bitcoin’s price rise is supported by a confluence of technical confirmation and steady institutional accumulation, though it remains sensitive to traditional macro forces.
