BACCIMA Partners NCS to Promote Seamless Trade

The Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA), on Monday said it is partnering the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to promote seamless trade and support legitimate business.

Alhaji Yahaya Idris, the BACCIMA President, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the office of the Controller, Seme Area Command of the NCS, Comptroller Abdullahi Kaila in Seme.

According to him, as a stakeholders in trade facilitation, the Nigeria Customs Service plays a vital role in ensuring efficient border operations.

“BACCIMA is committed to working closely with your office to promote seamless trade, support legitimate businesses and align with national and regional trade frameworks such as ECOWAS and AFCFTA,” he said.

Idris said that the purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the leadership of BACCIMA, strengthen institutional collaboration and discuss areas of mutual interest.

“These are areas of facilitating cross-border trade, enhancing compliance, and supporting the economic development of the Badagry corridor.

“We are also here to brief the command about the incoming BACCIMA Trade Fair 2026, taking place at the Lagos international trade fair complex along the Lagos-Badagry expressway.

“The theme is Trading Without Borders; Empowering Business for Regional and Global Markets,” he said.

Responding, the controller commended the leadership of BACCIMA for encouraging local production of goods and exportation.

According to him, these would encourage employment of labour and services, just as he pledged the command’s support towards the upcoming trade fair in May.

Kaila commended the leadership of BACCIMA for visiting him, assuring them that the command would always ready to assist them. #BACCIMA Partners NCS to Promote Seamless Trade#
