ACCI Urges FG to Streamline Regulatory Frameworks, Eliminate Business Bottlenecks

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has called on the Federal Government to streamline regulatory frameworks to eliminate overlapping and complex processes that burden businesses.

ACCI’s Director-General, Mr Agabaidu Jideani, made the call while speaking on possible ways to promote a conducive business environment, in Abuja on Monday.

Jideani urged government to create a stable and supportive environment that would inspire confidence among investors, saying that such gesture would enhance business activities across the country.

“Government should prioritise the implementation of business-friendly policies and focus on improving budget execution, particularly in infrastructure development.

“Government should also expedite tax reforms to address multiple taxation, simplify procedures and reduce costs and delays in obtaining permits and licences.

“Government should ensure effective and timely implementation of infrastructure projects to enhance the operating environment for businesses,’’ he said.

According to him, government and the private sector must work together to create a conducive business environment that supports the growth and development of businesses in the country.

He encouraged businessmen to leverage Artificial Intelligence and innovative technologies to improve operational efficiency that would support customers` satisfaction.

Jideani advised business owners to foster a better work-life balance for employees and invest in their welfare, as such effort would boost productivity, enhance talent retention and improve business performances.

He emphasised the importance of supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which play a crucial role in promoting economic development of the country.

According to him, the SMEs should be supported with reduction of regulatory burdens to allow them to operate efficiently, enhancing access to affordable financing and resources to enable their growth and sustainability.

He said that SMEs should be protected from harassment and intimidation by government agencies and municipal authorities.

According to him, ACCI remains committed to supporting initiatives that drive economic growth and providing a platform for dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders in Nigeria’s business ecosystem. #ACCI Urges FG to Streamline Regulatory Frameworks, Eliminate Business Bottlenecks#
