ABC Transport Fires Up, Shareholders’ Wealth Rises 68%

ABC Transport Plc shareholders’ wealth rose sharply as the company’s share price extended its latest re-rating during last week’s trading sessions, outperforming the Nigerian Exchange.

Over the last seven trading sessions, the transport company’s share price climbed 68% to N7.40 at the close of trading on Friday, up from N4.40, reflecting increased market activity.

Shareholders and investors increased their exposure to the transport company ahead of its third-quarter earnings release for the financial year 2026.

Stockbrokers said the multi-fold price increase was driven by higher trading volume, led by buy-side actors. According to data from the Nigerian Exchange, the market value of ABC Transport Plc’s 2.392 billion outstanding shares rose to N17.705 billion, about 26% below its 52-week high.

Market analysts said ABC Transport still has upside opportunities if the share price stays in line with its latest performance, driven by sentiment. The share price could reclaim its 52 week high should its earnings turn to catalyst for new re-rating.

In a disclosure, the company told the Nigerian Exchange that its non-executive director, Nneji Francis Uzor, acquired additional shares in the transport company, totalling 658.796 shares at N5.70 per share.

The share purchase was worth N3.755 million as of 25 Sept. 2026. Now, ABC Transport market value has increased from N10.527 billion to N17.705 billion in just seven trading sessions – excluding independence day holiday.
