    Gov. Sani Presents Draft Budget of N458.2bn for 2024-2026 at Town Hall Meeting

    Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State on Tuesday presented the state’s draft budget of N458.271 billion for 2024-2024 at a 2023 town hall meeting.

    The budget was tagged: “ Budget of Rural Transformation and Inclusive Development”.

    Sani said the budget was focusing on agriculture, regional, rural and economic development, as well as security, infrastructure and human capital development.

    He said it would also revitalize  the economy of people of the rural areas and also support the people

    The governor explained that 25 per cent of the draft  budget went to education, adding that education  serves as the bedrock of any meaningful development.

    Sani assured that all the children in the state would have free and  quality education at all levels.

    He explained further  15 per cent of the budget has been earmarked for the improvement of health care services delivery across the state.

    Delivering his remarks, the State Commissioner for Planning and Budget Commission, Mr  Mukhtar Ahmed,

     said that the gathering was to deliberate on the most important policy document in government.

    The commissioner, who gave the breakdown of the budget, said the total proposed recurrent expenditure was N139,434,722,889.38billion, while the total proposed capital expenditure stood at  N318,836,576,588.28 billion.

     Ahmed said  that the size of the budget was strictly in conformity with realizable revenues, adding, ” because of the economic uncertainties and shocks occasioned by the withdrawal of fuel subsidy and the forex/exchange rate policy.

    ”Maintaining the minimum budgeting baseline model of 60:40 ratio of capital to recurrent..Education (25.19%) and Health (15.63%) sectors taking about 40.82% of the total proposed budget, respectively. Naira Devaluation Deepens Economic Crisis in Nigeria
