Gombe State’s Gov. Yahaya Presents N207.8bn 2024 Budget for Legislative Consideration

Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State presented a 2024 budget of N207.8 billion to the House of Assembly on Monday.

The budget is made up of N87.25 billion or 42 per cent for recurrent expenditure, and N120.5 billion or 58 per cent for capital expenditure.

The first budget in his second tenure, Yahaya tagged the proposal: “Budget of Continuity and Consolidation’’ saying it aimed at building on his first term’s achievements and consolidating on past gains.

“Government envisages the collection of N121.9 billion as recurrent revenues and N138.9 billion as capital receipts,’’ he said.

He said budget performance for 2023 stood at 57.4 per cent as at end of September.

Yahaya urged the House of Assembly to scrutinise the budget and provide constructive insights to enrich the document so as to enhance citizens’ welfare.  Naira Steadies as Banks Issue Update on FX Purchase
