    NASD OTC Tracks Higher as Friesland, CitiTrust, VFD Gain

    NASD OTC Tracks Higher as Friesland, CitiTrust, VFD Gain

    NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) exchange for unlisted companies stocks tracked higher due to demand for Friesland Campina, Cititrust and VFD Group shares, among other top performers.

    The total market gain recorded lifted the OTC Exchange capitalisation beyond N1 trillion mark again after a hefty fall that was recorded in the previous week. Trading data for last week showed that NASD OTC Securities Exchange Index (NSI) closed with a positive movement on the NSI.

    Specifically, the NSI return increased by 3.02% to775.32 points against 752.59 in the previous week, trading data reviewed shows. Due to price appreciations, the NASD OTC market capitalisation closed at ₦1.02 Trillion from ₦990.72 billion week on week.

    There was a 197.67% increase in the total value traded last week as NASD Investors traded a total of ₦272,440,517.8 in value compared to ₦91,524,738.17 achieved in the previous week.

    Total trade activity for the year printed at ₦20,863,312,318.48 on Friday. This happened on the back of an uptick seen as total volume traded hit 12,317,531 units compared to 10,254,299 units in the previous week.

    This translates to a 20.12% increase in trade volume week on week. Meanwhile, the total volume traded for the year inched upward to 3,175,532,333 units.

    Trading data shows that Central Securities Clearing System PLC ranking top among the five most traded securities by volume and 11 PLC as the fifth most traded stock by volume traded in the week.

    Also, Central Securities Clearing System PLC ranking top among the five most traded securities by value and VFD Group PLC stood as the fifth most traded Security by value for the week.

    Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦204.22 billion closed the week at ₦104.59 representing an 18.31 percent increase from the previous close of ₦88.40.

    CitiTrust Holdings PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦5.80 billion closed the week at ₦5.80 representing a 5.45 percent increase from the previous close of ₦5.50.

    VFD Group PLC, which currently holds a Market capitalisation of ₦46.53 billion closed the week at ₦244.88 representing a 4.64 percent increase from the previous close of ₦234.02

    NASD PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦6.50 billion closed the week at ₦14.64 representing a 4.57 percent increase from the previous close of ₦14.00.

    Niger Delta Exploration & Production PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦33.56 billion closed the week at ₦185.00 representing a 2.78 percent increase from the previous close of ₦180.00

    NASD OTC Securities Exchange Market closed on a Positive note year to date as the market recorded an increase in performance.  NASD Security Index Year-to-date returns increased by 4.37%.

    Total volume traded year-to-date printed at 3,175,532,333 units in 1,309 deals, according to trading data obtained and the total value traded settled at ₦20,863,312,318.48.

    Central Securities Clearing System PLC, which currently holds a market capitalisation of ₦74.75 billion closed the week at ₦14.95 representing a 6.65 percent decrease from the previous close of ₦16.00. #NASD OTC Tracks Higher as Friesland, CitiTrust, VFD Gain
