XRP Price, Volume Dip Ahead of Ripple’s Flagship Swell Conference
Ripple (XRP) price and volume were down on Monday ahead of Ripple’s Swell Conference kick-off on Tuesday. XRP treads water as whale selling meets institutional ETF inflows, with all eyes on this week’s Swell conference.
With $1.48 billion in transaction value, XRP volume has fallen 10% over the last 24 hours, reflecting weaker buyer conviction. Traders said the bearish sentiment isn’t specific to XRP, as other top cryptocurrencies are also down on Monday.
Bitcoin and Ethereum posted modest losses of 0.42% and 0.38%, trading at about $80,500 and $2,330, respectively. The total cryptocurrency market capitalisation remained stable at $2.68 trillion, with a 24-hour volume of $51 billion.
After a week of outflows, U.S. spot XRP ETFs returned to net inflows, attracting $4.25 million for the week ending October 26. This contrasted with continued outflows from Ethereum and Solana funds.
Cumulative net inflows for XRP ETFs remain near an all-time high of $1.8 billion. Crypto analysts said this is a neutral-to-bullish signal for XRP, indicating persistent institutional demand despite recent price weakness.
It shows the product’s resilience, but the modest weekly inflow suggests measured conviction, not euphoria. On-chain data shows wallets holding 10–100 million XRP fell from 351 to 339 over a month, while exchange balances rose by 47 million tokens.
This suggests distribution by large holders. Analyst Ali Martinez notes XRP is testing the $1.26 support of a downward channel; a decisive break could target $1.11 and even $0.98.
This is bearish for XRP in the short term, as increasing sell-side pressure from whales threatens a critical technical level. The rising exchange balances add to near-term overhead supply, though some transfers may be for trading rather than outright selling.
Ripple’s flagship Swell conference, combined with the Apex developer summit, begins October 27 in New York. The event features over 100 speakers and has historically served as a platform for major partnership and product announcements, focusing on payments, tokenisation, and XRP utility.
This is a bullish catalyst for XRP, as significant news could shift market sentiment. However, the impact depends on the substance of the announcements—tangible evidence of adoption and implementation will matter more than promises alone.
XRP is caught between steady ETF demand and concerning whale distribution, with its immediate technical fate hinging on the $1.26 support.
