Cardano Price Drops to $0.21 as Selloffs Hit Altcoins

Cardano (ADA) price fell 0.89% to $0.21 in the past 24 hours, slightly underperforming a flat broader market (total crypto cap -0.36%) as risk-off sentiment drove capital back to Bitcoin.

The price move reflects broader market weakness and a defensive rotation into Bitcoin, as evidenced by a falling total market cap and rising BTC dominance. The total cryptocurrency market cap declined 0.36% to $2.69 trillion, while Bitcoin dominance ticked up to 60.12%.

This suggests a defensive tilt, with capital moving out of altcoins like Cardano and into Bitcoin amid subdued sentiment. ADA’s drop is part of a broader cooling-off period, not an isolated event.

Other altcoins like NEAR Protocol also fell sharply (-9.52%), confirming a sector-wide pattern rather than an ADA-specific issue. The absence of a unique catalyst suggests ADA is moving with the altcoin cohort, not on its own fundamentals.

ADA’s near-term path depends on Bitcoin’s stability and upcoming macro events. If BTC holds above $80,000, ADA could consolidate between $0.20–$0.21.

A break below $80,000 for BTC could trigger a deeper ADA correction toward $0.19. The immediate trigger is the Federal Open Market Committee statement due October 28, which will influence overall risk appetite.

The bias is neutral to slightly bearish until Bitcoin establishes a clear direction. ADA’s reaction at the $0.20 psychological level and any shifts in trading volume, which is up a modest 11% to $272.7 million.

Cardano’s decline reflects cautious market sentiment and a defensive rotation toward Bitcoin, with no clear internal catalyst. # Cardano Price Drops to $0.21 as Selloffs Hit Altcoins SK Hynix Postpones Plan to Take Solidigm Public
