XRP Inches Up as Cross River Taps Ripple USD Stablecoin for Payment

XRP staged a rebound Thursday as Cross River Bank announced a strategic move to integrate Ripple USD stablecoin (RLUSD) into its core banking infrastructure.

The technology infrastructure platform Cross River Bank announced a collaboration with Ripple to integrate the USD stablecoin $RLUSD into its core banking system and support trading via the $XRP Ledger (XRPL).

Cross River states that fintech clients can use $RLUSD payments through a single API and transfer funds between USD and $RLUSD, enabling cross-border payments and settlements.

The integration marks another step toward converging traditional banking and blockchain-based payments within the regulated U.S. financial system, Cross River Bank said.

Trading data showed XRP climbing 0.84% to $1.34, closely tracking a broader market recovery primarily driven by a macro-driven rebound in Bitcoin.

XRP’s gain mirrors Bitcoin’s 0.81% rise and the total crypto market cap’s 0.81% rise. The move follows a market slide after hotter US CPI data on October 14, suggesting a relief bounce as traders reassess macro risks.

The price action is not driven by XRP-specific news but by broader crypto sentiment and capital flows.  XRP perpetual futures open interest plunged 33.47% in 24h with negative funding rates, indicating a mass closure of leveraged positions that alleviated immediate selling pressure.

Concurrently, the price is testing a key support zone between $1.28 and the 200-day SMA at $1.28, with RSI at 38.18 nearing oversold territory.

The sell-off may have exhausted itself in the short term, allowing for a technical bounce. A sustained move above the 50-day average near $1.39 would signal a stronger recovery.

The immediate trajectory hinges on the $1.28–$1.34 support zone. If buying interest persists, the next resistance is the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level at $1.41.

The key upcoming trigger is the next session of US spot ETF flow data; sustained inflows would support price stability.

A daily close below $1.28 invalidates the bounce and could trigger a decline toward the $1.00–$1.05 area. The outlook is cautiously neutral, dependent on holding critical support.

XRP’s modest gain is a beta-driven technical bounce after a sell-off, lacking a fundamental catalyst. Its near-term path depends on holding key support.

Ripple Prime, the prime brokerage division under Ripple, is launching perpetual contracts linked to Real World Assets (RWA) for institutional clients, covering over 100 reference markets including stocks, indices, ETFs, and commodities.

The service is provided through Trade.xyz and supports cross-margin mechanisms, allowing clients to share account funds across multiple positions to improve capital efficiency.
