NVIDIA Tokenised bStocks Slides on Bearish IMF Report
NVIDIA Tokenised bStocks (NVDAB) slipped 1.88% to $226.53 on Monday, closely tracking a broader crypto market dip and underperforming its underlying stock, driven by weak institutional demand spilling over from Bitcoin.
NVDAB moved in lockstep with Bitcoin, which dropped 1.23% to $82,693.94. The tokenised stock moved in tandem with a declining tech sector.
The total crypto market cap also fell 1.09%. A 351% surge in trading volume to $18.9 million indicates elevated selling activity was the dominant force behind the price drop.
NVDAB’s price swing reflected spot buying demand and continued net outflows from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs in October, sapping momentum across crypto assets.
This beta-driven move shows NVDAB remains sensitive to macro crypto flows. The tokenised stock lacks independent momentum and is currently a passenger in the broader market.
The International Monetary Fund’s Global Financial Stability Report, published October 11, found tokenised equities are significantly more volatile and illiquid than traditional shares..
While the report also noted real demand, the highlighted risks may have prompted caution among holders of NVDAB and similar assets.
Traders said regulatory scrutiny and inherent flaws in market structure are now a visible overhang on the tokenised stock sector. Traders advise investors to monitor any regulatory follow-up or new platform safeguards addressing the IMF’s concerns.
The immediate trigger is the upcoming U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, which will influence broader risk appetite. For NVDAB, the key level to hold is the $220–$225 zone.
If Bitcoin stabilises above $83k and spot volume confirms, a retest of $240 is possible. However, a break below $220, coupled with high turnover — volume spiked 310% to $16.7 million — could accelerate selling toward the $210 support.
The bias is neutral to slightly bearish unless buying volume returns.
Market analysts said investors should track NVDAB’s price action relative to the traditional Nvidia stock (NVDA), as a widening discount could indicate onchain-specific selling pressure.
NVDAB’s drop is a combination of weak crypto market beta and renewed focus on the tokenised asset sector’s structural risks. #NVIDIA Tokenised bStocks Slides on Bearish IMF Report
