Cardano Drops as Crypto Investors Take Profit, Price Consolidates
Cardano (ADA) price declined 3.28% to $0.24689, underperforming a slightly positive Bitcoin, primarily driven by profit-taking after a strong monthly rally.
Traders spotted profit-taking and price consolidation following a 20.88% gain over the past 30 days, with no fresh positive catalyst to sustain momentum.
Cardano rallied 20.88% over 30 days, partly fueled by positive ecosystem developments like the CIP-0113 token standard launch on October 7 and progress on its .ada domain application.
The altcoin drop appears to be a natural pullback as short-term traders lock in gains, especially with no new major catalyst emerging.
The movement reflects healthy consolidation after a significant uptick, not a breakdown in fundamentals, crypto analysts said in a chat.
Market analysts said sustained network activity levels; a drop below September’s average daily active addresses of about 16,200 could signal waning interest.
Supporting the down, the broader altcoin segment showed signs of fatigue. The Altcoin Season Index fell to 61, and an analysis noted that while eight altcoins—including Cardano—outperformed Bitcoin over 30 days, six had fallen in the past week.
ADA’s decline aligns with a short-term rotation out of altcoins, not a coin-specific failure. Watch for: The index reclaiming the 65 level, which would suggest altcoins are regaining relative strength against Bitcoin.
Technically, ADA is testing near-term support. Its price is below the 7-day Simple Moving Average of $0.24725 and the 50% Fibonacci retracement level at $0.25236.
The immediate concrete level to watch is the recent swing low at $0.24585. The short-term bias is neutral-to-bearish until buyers defend the $0.245 zone.
Technical traders hinted that a decisive break and close above the pivot point at $0.24734, which could open a path back toward $0.255. A pullback is a typical breather after a strong monthly performance, compounded by a brief shift away from altcoins. Cardano Extends Rally on RealFi Launch, Payments Partnership
